Technical Issues to be Aware of

It is important to read the guidelines for technical issues at the IFWs.
Being aware of these will avoid some possible pitfalls along the way and ensure you are credited for your product trials.

The main concerns surround using proxy servers, and cookies, which can affect the proper tracking of offers you complete at the IFWs.

No Spam Filters
Make sure that you are not using any type of spam control that forces the sender to reply to a confirmation email. You need to be able to receive automatic emails from the IFWs, and their systems simply will not respond to confirmation emails.

A Caution for Proxy Servers
Your Internet service provider may set your access to the web via a Proxy Server. That means you don't have a set IP address, but rather you are using an IP address that changes and or is shared by other users. Test you server now - Test my IP Server

This is generally not going to be problem, since tracking is done using cookies, and you'll be able to complete and get credit for the offers you accepted.

However, if you ever need to submit for a "manual credit" at a network/site for an advertiser offer you completed, one of the things they do look at is your IP address. If you are behind a Proxy, they won't know your true IP address - all they will see is the IP address of the Proxy server. Since a Proxy server IP address can be shared by 100s or even 1000s of people, they can use the fact that they can't identify your offer completion by the IP address, as a reason for denying you the credit for completion of the offer.

A rare situation you may see is if someone who is also using the same Proxy server were to complete an offer, and then you accessed the same site with the same Proxy server and tried to complete that same offer.

Many IFWs will assume it's the same person trying to do an offer over and over again. This is frowned upon and you may find that particular IFW account gets put on hold, or even terminated for fraud.

This really isn't as big a deal as it may sound. It just doesn't happen often, but there's nothing you can do about it. This is just the nature of the game. We just want you to be aware of it.

For more information check with your IS provider, and even consider changing them if you are being connected through a proxy server. Although this may seem a lot to go through, you have to look at it as part of the cost of doing business as you seek to change your current financial situation.

Ways to ensure you get credit for doing an offer
  • Cookies Settings - Most systems use cookies to track your offer, so it's important that you do everything possible to help this process. Our suggestion is to set your "Privacy" setting to accept all cookies before you complete an offer. Once you're done you can change it back to your preferred setting.
  • Anti Spyware Settings - When you are completing an offer, we also recommend that you turn off any anti-spyware or anti-virus software you may be using. Just be sure to turn it all back on when you're done completing the offer.
  • Proxy Servers - For the best results, do not complete offers while surfing the web behind a Proxy server.
  • The Confirmation Page - After completing an offer you should let the confirmation page remain open for a few minutes before navigating away. This will allow the page to fully load, and allow the background processing and tracking to be completed.
  • Save The Proof - Always print a copy of the confirmation page and save any confirmation email that you receive. If ever you don't get credit, this will be helpful proof when you need to submit a manual credit request to the IFWs.
